I read this post on FARE’s website:
As you may have heard, the Empire State Building will be lit in teal, the signature color of food allergies, on May 8. We invite you to visit the iconic building on this first day of Food Allergy Awareness Week to help celebrate this momentous occasion and to raise awareness about the severity of food allergy and anaphylaxis.
We encourage you to take photos of the building and post them to social media using #FoodAllergyWeek and #TurnItTeal to help raise awareness of what the colored lights mean. You can also send an email or message to your friends and family in the area explaining the teal lights, sharing your food allergy story, and asking them to get involved in Food Allergy Awareness Week by learning more about this serious medical condition.
